About this Speaker

Lyn Johnson was born in Cape Town, South Africa. She was an elementary school teacher and pastored a local church along with her husband Brett. In 1986 Brett was transferred to the Bay Area, California for a one-year assignment; they moved with their young family and now 35 years later, divide their time between the USA and South Africa.

Alongside her role of mom to her three children, Lyn built a successful direct sales business and led a large team of women for 21 years. Her passion for people, team building and providing meaningful work for those who wish to be self-employed, gave her great joy.

Lyn has also been involved with their ministry, rēp (Repurposing Business) and has been part of many teams that have traveled to different parts of the world to come alongside Christian business owners to help them repurpose their businesses for the kingdom of God.

Growing up in a very welcoming home enabled Lyn to invite many of her friends back to her parents’ house and gave her the model to do the same when she was married. Through the years, Brett and Lyn have hosted countless people, some who have stayed with them for extended periods of time.

Lyn’s passion for inspiring and equipping people to practice true hospitality led her to start Heartistry. She loves encouraging others to have open hearts and open homes. Lyn has led week long, life-changing Heartistry Experiences in Hawaii, South Africa and the South of France. Many students from around the world have been part of Lyn’s At Home with Heartistry Online Courses.

Lyn’s latest venture is a “glamping” tent which she and Brett have set up in the woods of their Tennessee property. It gives her great joy to know that friends can come and be refreshed and experience God’s presence in a place of peace and beauty.
